Poland: National Bank of Poland (NBP)
Previous Decision: Cut by 25 bps (December 3, 2025)
Key Rate: 4.00% (Reference Rate)
Summary: In its final meeting of 2025, the Monetary Policy Council (MPC) delivered a “Christmas gift” to borrowers by cutting the reference rate to 4.00%. This marked the fifth consecutive rate reduction of the year. The decision was driven by inflation falling below the central bank’s target in November and wage growth surprising to the downside. The Council noted that while the easing cycle has been aggressive, the outlook for 2026 remains favorable for price stability.
