Dimitri’s journey to success is inspiringly unconventional, rooted in diverse experiences ranging from DJing to performing manual labor at a precast concrete company. These early roles instilled profound character traits that define his leadership today; as a DJ, he learned the art of building communities and the long-term value of helping others without expecting anything in return. Dimitri maintains this generous philosophy today.
His time in industrial operations provided a visceral education in risk management, where failing to follow safety rules had immediate, physical consequences, offering him a perspective on risk often lost in the abstract environment of finance.
Additionally, traveling with his father to personally deliver catalogs taught him the power of dedicated customer service, fostering client loyalty so deep that a customer eventually became an investor.

Driven by a desire to support others, Dimitri founded “Fancy Quant” and his YouTube channel to bridge the gap in career services he experienced after graduating from the University of Michigan.
While born from frustration, this content and community initiative transformed into a positive mission of contributing to the improvement of the industry as a whole and helping place students into highly sought-after jobs.

Dimitri’s corporate career is marked by rapid ascent and high-impact innovation across several major firms.
• Comerica: He built the first model implementation team for CCAR models, seizing the opportunity to work in model development and economics.
• BCG: He utilized his expertise to help a global bank rewrite documentation and redesign models to pass CCAR stress tests, demonstrating a tireless work ethic.
• Santander: Achieving the title of Associate Director by age 30, Dimitri’s rigorous standards led to a high model failure rate during validation, a “problem” that was actually a massive positive as it resulted in better models, reduced risk, and significant cost savings for the firm.
• Agora Data: He built the firm’s first real quantitative development and research teams from the ground up, playing a pivotal role in modeling and closing their first public securitization.
Currently, Dimitri has pivoted to prioritize building the FancyQuant community. Dimitri highly values his mental and physical health, striving to find balance and excellence in his daily life while continuing to serve the sector through consulting, research, and writing.
